Transfer Case Shield – GM (86806165)

Transfer Case Shield is a formed or cast component that surrounds or supports part of the powertrain. Corrosion and cracking at mounting points are the usual reasons for replacement.

Replace the Transfer Case Shield when you find a crack that weeps under pressure, or when the mounting ears have failed. Welding a casting rarely restores the original alignment.

Reference number for the Transfer Case Shield: 86806165. It is filed under Transfer Cases, and it is the number that has to match the part coming off the vehicle.

This is GM dealer-sourced stock rather than an equivalent, so the number on the Transfer Case Shield traces straight back to the manufacturer.
