Transmission & Clutch

The transmission and clutch group holds the components that manage torque between the engine and the wheels: complete automatic and manual units, clutch packs and flywheels, planetary gear sets, shift hardware, valve bodies and solenoids, torque converters, electronic controls and the cooling lines that keep fluid temperature in range.

Buying guide: Transmission & Clutch

Automatic transmission internals are the least forgiving parts on any vehicle. A clutch pack that has been slipping for a week contaminates the whole hydraulic circuit, and a single sticking shift solenoid can command a line pressure that destroys a drum. That is why we list internal components by position and apply ring, and why the build code matters: two units with the same model designation can use different apply plates depending on the year and the plant that assembled them.

Fluid and filter work should always accompany hard-part replacement. If you are unsure which code your unit carries, the stamped tag on the case or the VIN will settle it, and we will check it against the supplier catalogue before you order.
