Front Axle – GM (84496944)

Front Axle transfers drive across a moving joint. Two shafts that look alike can differ in length by enough to bottom out in the joint, so the measurement matters more than the model year.

Replace the Axle when there is rotational play at a joint, when the shaft is bent, or when a seal surface is grooved past the point of sealing. Measure the installed length against the specification.

This Axle is listed as part 84496944 (Axle Assemblies). Where a number has been superseded, the current reference is the one that ships, so check any supersession note before ordering.

This is genuine GM stock, supplied for the Axle with the manufacturer number intact so the reference on the box matches the catalogue.

The listing covers the front position of the assembly.
