Axle assemblies are matched to the vehicle's drivetrain configuration, the brake package and the ABS system. A four-wheel-drive beam is not interchangeable with a two-wheel-drive beam even when the mounting points look the same, and a hub with a different tone-ring count will set an ABS code immediately.
