Clutch is an apply element inside the clutch pack that engages a gear set. Apply plates and pistons are stacked in a fixed order, and that order is specific to the build code rather than to the transmission model.

Replace the Clutch when an apply event slips, flares or binds, when the old plate shows burnt friction material, or during any rebuild that opens the pack. Clearance is set by stack height, so measuring the old stack before ordering is what prevents a repeat repair.
