Axle Assembly – GM (86797912)

Axle Assembly transfers drive across a moving joint. Two shafts that look alike can differ in length by enough to bottom out in the joint, so the measurement matters more than the model year.

Replace the Axle when there is rotational play at a joint, when the shaft is bent, or when a seal surface is grooved past the point of sealing. Measure the installed length against the specification.

This Axle is listed as part 86797912 (Axle Assemblies). Where a number has been superseded, the current reference is the one that ships, so check any supersession note before ordering.

The stock here is genuine GM, and this Axle keeps the original engineering number, which matters once a number has been superseded more than once.

This is sold as an assembly; if only one component has failed, confirm whether the single part is available separately.
