Differential Carrier – GM (85069918)

Differential Carrier transmits drive at a fixed ratio and is matched to its shaft by tooth count and spline. A single tooth difference changes the ratio and surfaces as a speedometer error or a shift complaint.

Replace the Differential Carrier when tooth faces show pitting, when a whine rises with road speed, or when there is metal in the fluid. Gears wear as a set, so replacing half of one usually brings the noise back.
