Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Cable Bracket transmits driver input to the transmission or transfer case. Free play and adjustment range are set by the linkage geometry, not by the cable alone.
Replace the Lever Cable Bracket when the lever has excessive free play, when the cable binds in cold weather, or when a clip has broken. A cable that has frayed internally is not repairable.
The Lever Cable Bracket in this listing carries part number 42594705 and sits in the Wiring & Connectors category. The number stamped on the original part is the only reliable cross-reference.
The stock here is genuine GM, and this Lever Cable Bracket keeps the original engineering number, which matters once a number has been superseded more than once.
