Overheating is usually a chain of small failures rather than one dramatic part. A thermostat that opens late raises pressure until a plastic reservoir seam splits, and a hose that has gone soft at the clamp gives way on the first hot day of the season. Cooling components are also the most age-sensitive parts on the vehicle, so replacing a water pump without the hoses and the thermostat housing is false economy on anything past its first timing belt interval.
Moulded hoses are shaped for a specific routing and will not accept a universal substitute without rubbing against something. Each listing identifies the position and the engine it fits, and the fan assemblies include the correct shroud and motor connector for the chassis.
